Direct Game 1 – “Blue day” of tactical periodization

Context of exercising to work the direct game (based on the behavior of Mourinho’s Chelsea beating Paris SG in UEFA CL quarter finals).

To be executed on the Day of the SubPrinciples and SubSubPrinciples with high muscular contraction – “Blue Day”:


– Game situation GK +3×2.

– After coach signal Goalkeeper places the ball (from the goal area – base of the post) to inside the rectangle bounded by yellow cones (long pass only touching the ground inside the ‘yellow’ rectangle).

– The forward next to the yellow rectangle, moves in, marked by an opposition defender (initially outside the bounds too), and try to head the ball to a space behind hind (in the direction of opponent goal) beyond the red cones, where two team mates (wide midfielder and forward) will try to keep ball possession against one defender of the opponent team (these 3 players will always begin inside the rectangle bounded by the red cones).

– After every play, the players get to the original position and the goalkeepers start it again long passing to the ‘yellow rectangle’ until it reaches a stipulated time (1 to 2 mins).
