One of the most traditional teams of the African continent, Nigeria qualified to the World Cup in 2013, when was the champion of the African Cup of Natons. It will be their fourth time at the World Cup, being the best results reached in 1994 and 1998, when was eliminated right at the first phase of the playoffs. Despite the title at the 2013 African Cup of Nations, Nigeria’s performance is unpredictable, due to a horrible result at the 2013 Confederations Cup.

The main names in the Nigeria National squad are Kenneth Omeruo (Chelsea) and John Obi Mikel (Chelsea), Victor Moses (Liverpool), Shola Ameobi (Newcastle United), Danny Shittu (Millwall). These players are responsible for guiding other Nigerian players who are in less expressive teams to play a tournament full of stars, such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi, Ribery and Neymar. For that, they will be coached by Stephen Keshi, who have previously worked for Gana and Nigeria.

Nigerian football is worldwide known by its physical strength. More than that, they are extremely adapted to the hottest temperatures during their matches, different than most teams at the competition. Nigeria’s opponents on the Group F, Argentina, Iran and Bosnia will face tough matches against the Nigerians, who come to the World Cup to make history and reach their best results in the tournament.

Moses Liverpool

Victor Moses (Liverpool-ENG): After a great season playing the Premier League for Wigan Athletic, in 2010, the midfielder signed with Chelsea, where he won the Europe League. For his National Team, conquered the African Cup of Nations in 2013. Main Characteristics: short passes, assists, shooting and dribling.

Mikel Chelsea

John Obi Mikel (Chelsea-ENG): in Chelsea since 2006, the midfielder have great titles in his past.  Premier League, FA Cup e UEFA Champions League are some of them. Main Characteristics: passing and concentration.

Enyeama Lille

Vincent Enyeama (Lille-FRA): simply, the goalkeeper is the name of the experience in Nigeria. In the national team since 2002, he won the African Cup of Nations last year and was in the roster for the 2002 and 2010’s World Cups. Main Characteristics: reflex, concentration, face-to-face balls, p-kick defenses.
