Touch and Pass – 3. PROGRESSION

A continuous drill relavant to the previous drills but with more components to consider. As before teh group of 3 are looking to keep the ball until the forward pass is on but against 2 defenders it makes it difficult. See animation for explanation/rotations when the forward pass is made

Initially:

-defenders can only intercept not tackle
-the 3 possession players can make small movements to look for the ball but the target player (whoever that is at the time) must be standing right in front of their cone

Coaching considerations:

First touch
Scanning
Transition to defend, get narrow
Defending, pressure cover
Pressing together
Counter pressing
Transition to goal win winning the ball
