BLUE DAY – 6 VS 5

Set up: ...Pitch 30x20m + half of pitch, balls cones...

Instructions: ... In the central corridor of the players play the game 3 vs. 3 with ball possession blue. Blue players when the property can collaborate with their central defender. Red players have the goal to seize the ball and in cooperation with the attacker and wing players created chances and scored.

Duration 4 x 2 min.


ANIMATION 3

Zone for possession and zone for high pressure in which defenders are forced to press high. Team in possession allowed to make 5 passes in the possession zone under high pressure. When the ball reaches the number 9, thry have only 5 seconds to cross that area and finish under also high pressure, but now tighter zone for defenders. Defenders not allowed to get through that zone.


TO CORNERS

Advanced form of warm up. Start with 6v4.

Progression: 6v6, team in possession have set seconds to pass at one corner. The coach could allow them to gain more seconds when they send the ball to a mate in one corner who can still make a short pass to a mate in his zone. This is allowed for 2 times. When they make the 3rd pass to their own corner, they have to long pass the ball to the other field. Otherwise, the points deducted.
Defenders, press higher and mark the edges of those cornered boxes.


3 CENTER BACKS.

In this drill, a 3rd defender is added. 3 center backs formation, the small box in the middle is for one defender to mark a forward in there.

The whistle blows and the players start their physcial part by running around the poles and cones. The coach sends the ball at one side, this is when both teams start their roles based on the side. The forwards has to finally send the ball to their mate inside the small zone. When forwards successfully send the ball to the small zone, they win 1 point, and one extra if they score. However, defenders don't gain a point till they win the ball and finish the attack. This will put more pressure on them.


PPROGRESSION 1

A multiple-task drill for defenders. They will start 5v4 open play then a 1v2 counter attack situation. In the first flow, they will have to stop forwards from reaching the zone beyond the red cone. When the attack is finished, 2 pre assigned defenders go and stop the counter attack lead by 9. After that, the 3rd flow is stopped by the other 2 defenders.


CONSTANT FINISHING

Alternatives:

This drill will also work with the player who lays the ball off getting the ball and going back to the start

Progressions:

**The ball can be played in the air to work on controlling from the air and volleys/half volleys

**The player who plays the long pass to the corner can then defend against the player who is going to shoot meaning they will need to have good movements to create space and get a shot. And the wall pass player will need to lift their head to find the striker and not the defender


SPECIFIC WARM UP

Set up: whole pitch divided in three parts; balls cones, ladder

Organization: On place 1 players working passing ball exercises with the rotation A-B, B-C and C-A on the one side and D-E, E-F and F-D on the other side. On place B players working passing exercises with finishing and agility ladder with rotation. On plae C players play rondo 8 vs 2 game. Players doing three exercises in rotation, blue and red team. Blue team doing specific passing exercises until the red team play rondo and vice versa.

2 GOALS

This a little more demanding game. 2 goals at each end putting defenders under more serious pressure for the protection of any of the 2 goals. They even undergo more pressure by the addition of one player into the attacking team.
