COUNTER ATTACK RONDO

This drill is multi purpose. You can address for counter attack, transition, high pressure defensive... For youngsters, it is wise to help them develop gradually. Multi purpose drills could be slowly applied till you see and feel the youngsters ready in form. However, the drill shown here is prepared as multi purpose, i.e advanced.

The set up is devised to assure players activated their competitiveness, physical challenge, tactical work, and technical skills. The 3 C players on the borders are neutral defenders when both teams are competing for the ball in the play zone. The target for the team in possession is to complete a pre set number of passes, under high pressure of the opponents. On completion, they pass the ball to one defender on the sides. The currently neutral defenders pass the ball till it gets to the other side, which emulates a build up. When done, they pass to the player up the zone who makes a long pass to one side and finish the attack. Players now do the transition for the next round.


DEVELOPMENT

Passing pattern as before leading to a four v two with two recovering defender


SMALL SIDED 3

The forwards in the circle will have to get the ball through the gates which protected by defenders. While the defenders whenever they win the ball, they will have to pass the ball through to the coach. Whenever the forwards succeed passing the ball through the gate, the coach passes them another ball.


INTRO

A switch of play and then the ball is played into strikers feet who has came to receive the ball. the ball is then set back to the midfielder making an across the face run who passes the ball out wide to restart the routine


OUT FROM THE BACK – 3 OPTIONS

Setup: ... Pitch 60x75, balls and cones.

Formation- Team working with (GK-4-2-1) and going to Gates.
Opposing team (3-3) going to goal.
Goal Keeper collects the ball and we see a transition from defence to attack (attacking team play high & wide)

1. Option 1 - Playing into midfield from GK
Goal keeper plays into central midfield player. Midfielders its movement creates space for safely receiving ball in the central area. Midfieder recives the ball and has a number of passing options. Encourage midfielder to play max.two touch, move the ball quickly with penetratin passes and play forward when possible.

2. Option 2 - Playing to the central defender frim GK. If the strikers prevent the goalkeeper playing into midfield, GK can play into either of the central defenders. Depending on the side GK distributes the ball, one midfielder will play short and other long. The player in possesions has number of playing options and decision will be dictated by the position of defending players.

3. Option 3 - Playing to the full back (RB/LB)
Full back has a number of passing options or can carry the ball forward in the opportunity arises.
